Greenville Public Schools recently named Venus Cox as a recipient of the 2024 Elmer Russell School Bell Award! Venus, who started in 2016 as the GPS Director of Children's Corner & Licensing, was praised in her nomination for always being ready to help with district projects and continuously improving the childcare program for families.
"Everyone needs a Venus" is a common sentiment because she's the person you can always count on. Whether offering support, encouragement, or celebration, Venus is dedicated to the well-being of every student, family, and colleague.
Venus is deeply connected to our school culture, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her on the GPS team. Congratulations, Venus, on this well-deserved honor!

Greenville Public Schools recently named the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) one of our 2024 Elmer Russell School Bell winners! One nominator shared that "GACF supports all students and school programs with countless grants and scholarship opportunities."
Since GACF's inception in 1989, over $3,784,669 has been granted to GPS. The GACF Trustees are passionate about the value of education and making opportunities as equitable as possible. They believe in a total educational experience, including athletics and the arts, as well as safe and updated facilities, as the basis for a strong, progressive, and caring community.
Thank you, Greenville Area Community Foundation, for being a proud supporter of Greenville Public Schools. Congratulations on being named one of our 2024 Elmer Russell School Bell Award winners!
