Cedar Crest Families,
It is hard to believe it but the end of the school year is a short 20 days (14 school days) away. Below is some important information to put on your calendar as the end of the year approaches:
May 17th : 1/2 day 11:45 dismissal
May 19th: 1/2 day 11:45 dismissal
May 29th: No School- Memorial Day
May 31st: DK-5th grade all school carnival and Field Day- please send your child to school in clothing that they can get dirty in. Students in grades 3-5 will want to bring a couple extra sets of clothing as there will be water activities available to them. This special activity is a reward for working so hard on the M-Step tests!!!
June 1st: DK-5th grade All School Picnic and End of the Year Video- Our End of the Year Video for grades DK-2nd grade will start at 11:35 (parents are welcome to attend). This will then be followed by our all school picnic on the playground. Families are invited to attend our picnic. Please bring a towel or blanket to sit on while eating on the playground. All non-Cedar Crest children and adults will need to bring their own lunch with them to the picnic. All Cedar Crest students will be provided with a lunch. After the picnic, grades 3rd-5th will watch our End of the Year Video. This is the same video, we just split the times so there is enough room for everyone. If you plan to attend our picnic and/or the end of the year video please complete this link to help us with organization of the event.
June 2nd: 1/2 day 11:45 dismissal- Last day of school
June 2nd: 5th Grade Graduation and Clap Out- We will be celebrating our 5th grade students' transition to middle school by holding a graduation ceremony for them. This event will begin at 10:45. There will be time for photographs after the ceremony. We will then clap our 5th grade students out of the hallway as they exit the building for the last time as Cedar Crest students. We invite all adults to line the hallways to help us cheer for our 5th grade students during this exit.
Reminder...Wednesday (May 17) and Friday (May 19) will be Half Days for ALL GPS Students!
