Monday night Greenville central administration moved forward a recommendation to the board of education from our social-emotional learning committee. Professionals in social work, counseling, school psychology, child development, and instruction have been meeting for more than a year to honor the priority of mental health for our students.
Second Step (which has been used in GPS for over a decade) and Michigan Cares/Navigate 360 have been recommended for K-5 and 6-12 grade students, respectively. The two programs support social and emotional development focusing on empathy, kindness, self-management, and problem-solving. These programs are available for review at the Central Service Facility (1414 Chase St, Greenville) on July 14th and July 26th from 7:30 am-7:30 pm. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our curriculum assistant Ashley Ray at ashley.ray@gpsjackets.org.
