Greenville Board of Education Trustee Charlie Mahar submitted his letter of resignation, which states he will be resigning from his expiring 6-year term (which ends on December 31, 2024) effective immediately upon the Montcalm County Board of Canvassers certifying the November 5, 2024, election results. Charlie is one of two candidates running for two open abbreviated terms for the Greenville School Board on the November 5, 2024, ballot and, therefore, must resign from his expiring 6-year term to be able to accept office under the abbreviated term.
By law, board members must name a replacement no later than 30 days following the resignation.
The Greenville Board of Education seeks letters of interest for the anticipated vacant position. Letters of Interest must be received by 4:00pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
