Curriculum
Walnut Hills offers a wealth of opportunities including music, art, and physical education during the school day. Our facility is beautifully maintained and our classrooms are spacious and clean.
Technology
Each student at Walnut Hills has access to state-of-the art technology, including Chromebooks for every student in each classroom. Teachers integrate technology across the content areas ensuring that our students are well prepared to meet the ever-changing world of technology!
Chinese Immersion Program
Recognizing that our students must be competitive in the workplace, parents may choose to have their child in our Chinese Immersion program. Parents may apply for this program that offers students a 50-50 model, receiving instruction in Mandarin for half of the school day. Students receive reading and writing in English while Math, Social Studies, Science and culture are taught in Mandarin. More information regarding this program can be found on our website.
Extra-curricular Opportunities
Recognizing the need for extra-curricular opportunities, Walnut Hills offers several after-school clubs. We have the Yellow Jacket Running Club which trains students to participate in the Yellow Jacket 5K Challenge, Bloom, a club for 4th and 5th grade girls that focuses on developing a positive self image, and Yo Yo Club.
Walnut Hills PTO
The Walnut Hills PTO is an extremely active group, planning fun opportunities for families throughout the school year. Activities include a Glow Dance, Santa Sale, Carnival, Talent Show, and several other fun activities. The PTO financially supports classroom initiatives such as field trips and Zoo School, as well as classroom educational magazines. We enjoy the overwhelming support from all parents whether it is for an evening activity or in a classroom during the day. Our parents tirelessly volunteer their time and talents to provide a well-rounded education for all of our students.
I am extremely proud to be part of such a wonderful school community that is truly dedicated to providing opportunities for our students to ensure that they will become successful citizens of the world.
